Hepworth ‘Diversion’ to London

We're delighted to have qualified for the finals of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain at the Royal Albert Hall, London in October, having been runner up at this year's Yorkshire Brass Band Championships.

Our performance of ‘Diversions for Brass Band’ by Derek Bourgeois found favour with adjudicators Christopher Bond and Steven Mead who remarked that it was a performance characterised by "masterful technical delivery" and delivered "with lots of energy".

We're so proud of our amazing soloists on the day, including George Newbould on soprano cornet, Harry Porthouse on principal cornet, Adam Hofland-Ward on flugel, Yvonne Embury on trombone, and Will Burton on Eb Bass, with a special mention to our solo horn player Georgia Woodhead who was awarded the "Best Instrumentalist" in the section - well done Georgia!

We’d like to thank our Music Director Ryan Watkins for his meticulous preparation in the build up to the contest, and his inspiration and direction on the day. Ryan's passion, hard work and dedication to the band is incredible, we definitely couldn't have done it without him. Thank you Ryan!

Congratulations to winners Black Dyke Band and third-placed Brighouse & Rastrick Band - we’ll see you in London!

Finally, a really big thank you to all our friends and supporters for your kind messages of encouragement and congratulations. We really do appreciate your continued support.
